At K9 Luna Canine Training, we are dedicated to developing exceptional canine teams through a foundation of trust, discipline, and real-world training. Our 16,400 sq ft facility, set on 11 acres, provides the ideal environment for both dual-purpose and single-purpose K9 tracking. Our approach begins with building a strong foundation and progresses to scenario-based training, ensuring our teams are fully prepared for the challenges they will encounter in the field. JD Ballew
JD Ballew, the founder of K9 Luna Canine Training, brings nearly two decades of hands-on experience in law enforcement K9 handling and training. His career is marked by a deep commitment to enhancing the capabilities of K9 units through innovative training methods. JD’s expertise in both dual-purpose and single-purpose K9 tracking has been instrumental in shaping our training programs. His leadership and vision continue to drive our mission of producing top-tier K9 teams for law enforcement agencies.
Dan Wachowiak
Dan served in law enforcement for over 28 years, starting with Wisconsin Rapids Police Department from June 1993 to February 2000 and the Portage County Sheriff’s Office from February 2000 to July 2021. During Dan’s career, he was assigned to the Special Response Team for a total of 20 years and served as a Field Training Officer for 17 years. At the Sheriff’s Office, he was a K9 Handler and worked two dogs over 12 years and had hundreds of deployments. Dan was responsible for setting up and providing K9 training to the area law enforcement K9 handlers/agencies.
